TC Energy Corporation reported its results for the second quarter of 2026 in a release on its own pages, dated July 30, 2026. Among its project highlights are two expansions of its pipelines in the United States. Parts of the release follow, not the whole. Its financial results are not reported here, and neither are the build multiples it gives for its projects, a ratio it defines from capital expenditures and comparable EBITDA.
Two Projects Approved in June
The Central Virginia Capacity project is an expansion on the company's Columbia Gas system "designed to provide up to 0.4 Bcf/d of capacity to facilitate new natural gas-fired power generation to support data centre development." It has anticipated in-service dates in 2028 and 2030, and a total estimated project cost of approximately US$0.3 billion.
The Clark project is an expansion on the Columbia Gulf system "designed to provide up to 0.3 Bcf/d of capacity to provide firm transportation service to an existing natural gas-fired power plant." Its anticipated in-service date is 2028, at an estimated project cost of approximately US$0.1 billion. The release says the two projects "are backed by 20-year take-or-pay contracts."
In the chief executive's message, the two expansions "support increasing demand from gas-fired generation including data centre development."
Demand, in the Company's Words
The company's latest natural gas demand forecast estimates approximately 51 Bcf/d of demand growth from 2025 to 2035, "driven primarily by LNG exports, gas-fired power generation and industrial growth." That is the company's own forecast, and the release calls it one.
In Western Canada, the release says, growth on the company's NGTL System "is being supported by emerging power generation opportunities, including data centre-related load growth, as well as industrial development, LNG demand, and oilsands expansions."
Forward-Looking Information
The release's note on forward-looking information says such statements "may include" expectations about approved and future projects, "including associated capital expenditures, timelines, in-service dates, and outcomes."
Every forward-looking statement, the note says, reflects the company's beliefs and assumptions and "as such are not guarantees of future performance." It adds that "actual results could vary significantly from the forward-looking information."
