EQT Corporation, which describes itself as "a premier, vertically integrated American natural gas company with upstream and midstream operations focused in the Appalachian Basin," reported its results for the second quarter of 2026 on July 21, 2026, in a release on its own investor site. Parts of the release follow, not the whole. Its figures for income, cash flow and debt are not reported here, and neither are the remarks of its chief executive.
The Quarter's Prices
In the release's price reconciliation, the NYMEX price was $2.89 per MMBtu for the three months ended June 30, 2026, against $3.43 for the same months of 2025. EQT's average realized price was $2.65 per Mcfe, against $2.81 a year earlier.
Under "Realized Pricing," the release gives a differential of "$(0.67), favorable to guidance despite widening basis during the quarter due to benefits from marketing optimization and curtailment strategy." Its sales volume, it says, was above the high end of guidance, due in part to "lower-than-expected price related curtailments."
A Supply Deal Priced Off Power
Under its highlights, the release reports a "Premium Power Supply Deal." EQT says it signed a 10-year definitive agreement to supply 325,000 Dth/d of natural gas to an energy center in Doddridge County, West Virginia. The release names the counterparty and the energy center; neither is named here. The pricing is "linked to PJM power prices, providing a substantial uplift relative to in-basin pricing."
The release does not give the price itself, or say how the link to PJM power prices is set.
Will more of EQT's gas be sold on prices linked to power?
