Super Micro Computer held a call on August 5, 2025 to discuss its results "for the fourth quarter and full year fiscal 2025, which ended June 30, 2025," and published the scripted commentary of its management on its website. Parts of the script follow, not the whole. Its figures for earnings, cash and debt, and its outlook for fiscal 2026, are not reported here.
The Quarter's Revenue
Revenue for the fourth quarter was $5.8 billion, the script says, and server and storage systems made up 98% of it. Growth "was led by demand for next-generation air-cooled and direct liquid-cooled (DLC) AI GPU platforms," which represented over 70% of the quarter's revenue "across both enterprise and cloud service provider markets." The script gives that share for those platforms together, and not for the air-cooled and the direct liquid-cooled ones on their own.
Datacenter Building Block Solutions
The company introduced what it calls Datacenter Building Block Solutions, or DCBBS, to the market "last quarter," the script says. Among their key components it lists DLC solutions, a liquid-to-air sidecar, a CDU, a chilled door, a power shelf, battery backup, and water or dry tower solutions, and it adds that "more are coming."
In most cases, the script says, customers who use DCBBS "can finish building a liquid-cooled AI datacenter in just 18 months instead of 2 to 3 years." For converting "an existing datacenter or a warehouse, to a high-density direct liquid cooled (DLC) datacenter," it says, customers "can complete the transformation in only 3 to 6 months instead of 12 or even 18 months." Those times are the company's own statements. At the date of the call, the company had "just begun deploying rack-scale total solutions" with DCBBS "to a few key customers," and several DCBBS components, it says, "are now shipping or entering production."
The Second Generation
The company's second-generation Direct Liquid Cooling systems, which the script calls DLC2, "reduce power and water consumption by up to 40%," it says. The script does not say against what that reduction is measured.
Will the company deploy rack-scale total solutions with DCBBS beyond those few key customers?
